Basil brings the restaurant experience to your own table without trying to turn your villa into a restaurant. We cook in the kitchen where you are staying and leave it clean afterwards.
The food follows the season and the group, with local ingredients at its centre.
Private dining in your own villa
Hiring a private chef means the evening can happen where everyone is already staying. There is no need to organise transport, divide the group between restaurant tables or spend part of the holiday shopping and cooking for everyone.
Before the booking, we discuss the number of guests, the occasion, food preferences and dietary requirements. The menu is planned around your group rather than selected from a fixed restaurant menu.
One dinner or a chef for your whole stay
A private chef booking does not have to be limited to one evening. Basil also offers multi-day villa catering for families and groups spending several days together in the Algarve.
Depending on the stay, we can plan breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, snacks and special meals in whatever combination makes sense for the group.
The service is agreed beforehand to fit around the plans you already have.
Dietary requirements and allergies
We regularly adapt menus for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free requirements, as well as guests with nut or seafood allergies. Children’s meals can also be planned where needed.
We do not describe our kitchen as allergen-free and cannot promise zero cross-contamination, but we are very used to discussing individual requirements carefully and adapting menus where appropriate.

Basil travels to villas and private homes throughout the Algarve.
We particularly serve guests staying around Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo, Lagos and Praia da Luz, Albufeira, Loulé and Carvoeiro.
Group size and private chef pricing
Our general minimum group size is six people. Smaller bookings are possible, but for fewer than six guests a minimum service fee of €600 applies.
Each quote reflects the guest number, menu, service format, location and specific requirements, and includes everything agreed for the service.
