Privacy Policy

This page explains what personal data this website collects, why it is collected, and how it is handled. It applies to basilalgarve.store.

Who is responsible

Basil Algarve, operating as private chefs in the Algarve, Portugal, is responsible for the data described here. For any privacy request, contact us through the channels listed on basilalgarve.pt or by direct message on Instagram.

What we collect

  • Email address — only if you choose to submit it through the signup field on this site.
  • Cookie preferences — your consent choice is stored in your own browser so we do not ask again on every visit.
  • Technical request data — our hosting provider processes standard server log information, such as IP address and browser type, to deliver and secure the site.

We do not collect payment details on this site, and we do not ask for any special category data.

Why we process it

An email address is used only to send occasional messages about kitchen discoveries, recipes and private-chef work — on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Server logs are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure website.

Third parties

Following an outbound link — for example to an Amazon storefront, Instagram or Facebook — takes you onto that company's own platform, where its privacy policy applies. Amazon may set its own cookies to attribute a purchase to our storefront. We never receive your name, address or payment information from those purchases.

How long we keep data

An email address is kept until you ask us to remove it. Cookie preferences persist in your browser until you clear them or change your choice.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access to your data, correction, erasure, restriction of processing, or a copy in portable form, and you may object to processing or withdraw consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Portuguese data protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD).

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version will be published on this page.
